Back again for another week of awesome prints! As always these prints are available to vote for in the Thangs Maker League contest. Please check out all the great prints shared by the Thangs community. While there, consider giving our makes a like! You can find my makes listed under Miak3D.
This week we have some awesome prints by Fotis Mint, 3dprintbunny, Fab365, cruse2382 and RWB Designs.
Print #1 – Wall-E by Fab365
Fab365 took the printing world by storm when they released their first foldable model. All of Fab365’s models print flat and then are folded into a full 3d model! This week, I printed Wall-E from Pixar’s movie by the same name. My kids (and myself) absolutely love this movie, so once it was released I knew I had to print it. I did run into a few issues on my Bambu X1C though. I honestly think the X1C is a little too fast for most of Fab365s models, so I learned to run them on silent mode. These models are definitely worth the extra print time.
Filaments used: (All from my favorite brand Printbed.) I used Printbed Yellow, Grey, White, Black, Brown.
Check out all of Fab365‘s work!
Print #2 – Twisting Snowflake by RWB Designs
My kids love puzzles! So, when I saw this awesome twisting Christmas themed puzzle, it went directly onto the printer. Unfortunately, this one apparently didn’t print correctly. Once I started moving the joints, all the tabs broke off and the print fell apart. Just as most of us creators do, I will be re-slicing the model and trying again. Cross your fingers for luck!
Filaments used: Printbed Premium Frost -This filament was part of Printbed’s monthly Premium subscription. $25 /month will get you a limited edition roll of filament each month.
Print #3 – Customizable Family of Bears Puzzle by cruse2382
If you have spent any time on Etsy recently, you will likely have seen this bear family with a heart I stumbled across this model while scrolling through the trending prints on Thangs a week ago or so. I opted to print the 7 bear family option to reflect my family for my wife’s desk. One of my kids thought it would be cool if we opted for a gradient style color scheme for this one, so I tried my best to do that with the colors I had. Overall this was a good print, the tabs on the back are a little tight and needed a few whacks from the rubber mallet to seat correctly.
This was printed with Polymaker PolyTerra Earth Brown, Jessie Tan, PrintBed Peanut Butter, PrintBed White and PrintBed Red
Print #4 – String Flower Artwork by 3dprintbunny
Another week, another 3dprintbunny model! This was one of her first string art models, and it is hands down one of my favorites. The strings themselves almost act as an optical illusion with the angles and heights they print at. If you haven’t printed one of her string art models, yet you should definitely give one a shot, just make sure to follow her printing instructions, so it prints as intended.
This was printed with Prusament Galaxy Black
Print #5 – Nazgul by Fotis Mint
You can almost never go wrong with a model from Fotis Mint, especially one from The Lord of the Rings. This model was kind of a pint to paint in Bambu Studio, especially the hands and everything around them. Overall the print turned out really good outside of the sword blade, its very flimsy around the hands and I nearly broke it off when removing support.
This was printed with Eryone Galaxy Black, Fillamentum Rapunzel Silver and PrintBed White.
Remember, all these makes are entered into the Thangs Maker League. Please give them a like if you think they look good. Check back next week for the new “Prints of the Week”!
